Join Bookworm Proprietor Nicole Magistro and a panel of experts to learn about the process of publising your own book! Each session will focus on a different aspect of the publishing process. Sessions will run from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Dinner will be included.
Session 2: A River Runs Through It: Understanding how publishing options fit into the supply chain
This session will feature expert advice from printers, publication services, and print-on-demand providers that will enhance authors' knowledge of the numerous distribution options. It will help answer questions about trade pricing, print costs, and just how many books you might be willing to ship (or not)! Presentations from experts include:
ROBERT CASTELLINO is passionate about teaching photography and project based publishing. He has a unique ability to mold ideas, words and images into powerfully impassioned stories. He is most highly regarded for writing, photographing and publishing five photographic story and guide books about Colorado. His latest book release is, “Colorado: Life and Light on the Land,”—a limited edition collectable. Bob is an accomplished, versatile, creative and multifaceted professional. He taught photography and how to self publish your dream book. He is founder of Climate Colorado and gave the TEDx Talk “Solving the Climate Crisis by Rapid Prototyping Solutions.” Bob is known to go the extra mile to find a great location, look a little harder for people in an unusual situation to develop or wait a little longer for the right conditions to make a photograph. Bob enjoys the creative process of developing concept into a meaningful story to share with people as much as he enjoys the story telling itself. His photographic images are collected by individuals, museums and businesses around the world.
JULIE KIDDOO lives west of Vail, Colorado with her husband, Tom, their two children, Charlie and Catie, and their Golden Retriever, Nala. Julie owns Revolution Power Yoga, a Baptiste Affiliate yoga studio located in Avon, Colorado. She has completed over 1,000 hours of training with Baptiste Yoga, a LifeForce Yoga Level 1 practitioner, is a lululemon ambassador and is a teacher and a leader of yoga, influencing hundreds of lives on and off the mat. Julie loves being on her yoga mat, spending time in nature, writing, skiing, road trips with her family and having fun with family and friends. Julie recently published Bye-Polar, sharing her struggles with severe depression and the healing she found along the way. Through a tremendous amount of courage and support she found her path to wellness. Yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, community, and a willingness to come apart in order to rebuild anew have helped her grow and thrive.
KRISTINE GO believes that creativity is the most important tool for survival. Her life's work consists of projects that inspire others to live and take action purposefully. Kristine is the Owner & Creative Director for Pattern Curator, a trend forecasting & design agency that serves the retail industry. She is a partner & Resident Artist for MK Apothecary, a contemporary art gallery in NJ. Kristine's newest entrepreneurial project is merging the principles of art, design & yoga to serve the community. This project is Go Yoga, which started as a yoga clothing company and has now evolved into a yoga-based design service that includes creative writing, concept development and consulting art based projects to completion. Kristine currently resides in New Jersey with her life-partner Michael Aguirre, teaches yoga and enjoys spending her downtime with friends and family. www.kristinego.com
