Children's author Kaela Rivera will Zoom in from her home in Utah to lead an in-person workshop to flex kid's writing muscles and get the ideas flowing! She'll also discuss the process of writing her book, Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls, and talk about the joys of being a children's author.
Kaela Rivera is the award-winning author of the Cece Rios series. She grew up reading the folktales of her Mexican-American and British parents in the forests of Tennessee, but now she writes about them from the soaring mountains of Utah. When not crafting stories, she works as a managing editor for a marketing company (or secretly doodling her characters in the margins of her notebook). She believes in the power of hope and aims to write adventures that help children (and readers of all ages) process, progress through, and thrive after trauma. Visit her at kaelarivera.com.
