Glide Project event
Wednesday, January 8, 2020 - 6:00pm

Join us for a night of avalanche safety to benefit the Glide Project, founded by Kelli and Kreston Rohrig, in partnership with Chris Anthony.

Our mountains are as dangerous as they are beautiful, and being safe is paramount to fun in the snow. Kelli Rohrig from the Glide Project will lead a beacon education session, which will cover all the basics of beacon usage and the importance of having this equipment with you in the backcountry.

The Glide Project provides age-appropriate snow science and avalanche education for youth, with an emphasis on developing personal responsibility, teamwork, and respect for the mountain environment. It offers free all ages presentations to schools, businesses, small groups and by request, and provides a model to teach proper skills for backcountry responsibility by focusing on the process of calculated decision making for safer travel, developing backcountry protocols and tactics to combat peer pressure and other human risk factors, as well as developing techniques for self-rescue and winter survival.

$5 from every ticket sold will go back to the Glide Project. Attendees are also elligible for 10% off the price of the featured book "Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain" by Bruce Temper on the night of the event.
