Dave Muller was born in Washington, DC and came to Colorado in 1969. He has been hiking and cross country skiing in the Colorado mountains ever since. He finds that being in the mountains promotes renewal and reflection, and strengthens friendships and family ties with his hiking companions.
He has written five guidebooks to the Colorado mountains, the latest is "Hikes in Colorado's Holy Cross Wilderness", published in March, 2010. The book describes 37 hikes in the Holy Cross Wilderness, and lists them in order of difficulty, from less difficult to most difficult, which is the Mount of the Holy Cross. Previous books, published by the Colorado Mountain Club Press, are "Colorado Summit Hikes," " The Colorado Year Round Guide", "Colorado Lake Hikes," and " Colorado's Quiet Winter Trails."
He wrote a weekly column, "The Hike of the Week," and "The Cross Country Ski and /or Snowshoe Tour of the Week" for 17 years for the Denver Post. Dave is a psychiatrist in private practice and lives and works in Denver.
