Local author Christina Olds has completed a book about the extraordinary life of her father, Robin Olds.
Robin Olds was an American fighter pilot and general officer in the U.S. Air Force. The son of regular Army Capt. Robert Olds, educated at West Point, and the product of an upbringing in the early years of the U.S. Army Air Corps, Robin Olds epitomized the youthful World War II fighter pilot. He remained in the service as it became the United States Air Force, and was one of its pioneer jet pilots. Rising to command of two fighter wings, Olds is regarded among aviation historians and his peers as the best wing commander of the Vietnam War, both for his air-fighting skills and his reputation as a combat leader.
Who better than Robin Olds own daughter to tell the story of this legendary fighter pilot?
Christina has been traveling all over the country talking with people about her father's life and her new book. Check out the Wall Street Journal review! And a father's day feature on bookreporter.com!
