Vail Symposium Presents: Rethinking Iran
Start: 5:30 pm
End: 8:00 pm

Join the discussion with two top experts on the region who will explore consequences of the  U.S.’s complicated relationship with Iran. Dr. Reza Aslan is a world-renowned author of "No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam" and "How to Win a Cosmic War: God, Globalization, and the End of the War on Terror." Reza is a member of the Council on  foreign Relations and serves on the board of directors of the Ploughshares Fund, Abraham’s Vision, and PEN USA. He founded BOOMGEN Studios, the first-ever motion picture company to focus on entertainment about the Greater Middle East. Born in Iran, he currently resides in Los Angeles where he is a professor at the University of California, Riverside.

Karim Sadjadpour is now an associate in the Middle East program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace after serving four years as the chief Iran analyst at the International Crisis Group. A leading researcher on Iran, Sadjadpour has conducted dozens of interviews with senior Iranian officials and hundreds with Iranian intellectuals, clerics and others. He is a regular contributor to several media affiliates including BBC World TV, NPR, the Economist and New York Times. A Fulbright scholar, this graduate of the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies has testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and given briefs to the U.S. and EU officials about Middle Eastern affairs.
